Care Instructions

Arete Goods has selected the finest skins to create our leather goods. There may be markings and irregularities which are natural features, and should not be considered as imperfections.

Leather, especially suede, gains a beautiful patina with time. However it should be looked after with special care:

 

For ballet flats and sandals

  • After wear, use a soft cloth to clean the in-soles
  • Air your shoes for at least a day before storing
  • If your shoes get wet, make sure they are completely dry before storing
  • Do not wear your shoes everyday – try to rotate every 2 to 3 days
  • We recommend leather care products from Saphir for cleaning and maintenance
  • For suede care, refer to our blog post

 

For leather goods

  • Avoid contact with grease, water, perfume, cosmetics and
    solvents
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to strong light, heat and damp
    conditions which could lead to discolouration and stains
  • Avoid contact with anything coarse or abrasive which may
    scratch the leather
  • Clean the leather with a soft cloth before storing
  • Keep your leather tote in shape by stuffing it with provided tissue and storing in provided dustbag when not in use
  • We recommend leather care products from Saphir for cleaning and maintenance

 

Similarly, our high quality textiles are chosen for their natural properties, and as far as possible, are finished naturally without chemicals that alter their character. The following care instructions will ensure the longevity of your garments and accessories made from textiles:

 

 For cotton linen clothing

  • Machine wash 40 degrees celsius
  • Do not bleach
  • Iron whilst damp
  • Do not tumble dry

For cotton silk and cotton tencel clothing

  • Gentle machine wash
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Iron on low heat

For silk clothing and accessories

  • Recommended dry clean only
  • For silk clothing, gentle hand wash is fine but do not wring the garment. For specific care instructions, refer to our blog post
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Iron on silk setting

 

 

Shipping & Delivery

Courier delivery within Singapore is free for orders valued at SGD 150 and above. There is a charge of SGD 9 for orders valued under SGD 150. If you are in a hurry to receive your order, we offer an urgent courier service for SGD 15.

Please note standard order processing time still applies and courier delivery is not available on Sundays. There is a surcharge of SGD 15 for delivery to Sentosa.

International orders are most welcome as well. We offer registered airmail, economy and priority shipping anywhere in the world. Shipping rates are based on your order weights, and where you live (you will be notified of the shipping cost when you check out with your cart before making payment). 

The registered airmail shipping is a signature-required service that takes about 7-18 working days depending on customs clearance. During festive seasons, please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for your parcel to be delivered due to heavy mail volumes. Goods sent this way are trackable in most countries.

According to past experience, we have had trouble with locating parcels delivered to Italy, Poland, Germany, Austria, Australia, Spain, India and China. 95% of the parcels we send by this method are trackable and arrive safe and sound, but to these destinations it generally takes a longer time and may not be trackable. 

Kindly note that the postal service allows a maximum insurance compensation of SGD 60 for registered airmail service, so we are unable to compensate more than this amount. If your parcel is not received after 25 working days from the date of posting, we will issue a refund for the maximum compensation of SGD 60. 

If your shipping address falls within these destinations, or your local post office is not completely reliable, we strongly advise upgrading to the economy or priority shipping option.

Our economy shipping service promises to deliver your parcels within 4 working days, and 2 working days for priority shipping. Since there is a very, very low chance of lost parcels with these options, we will fully insure the item cost of your purchase.

For exceptionally large orders, we will contact you if shipping rates differ.

Any customs duties and taxes for international shipments are the responsibility of the customer.

Order Processing Time

All available merchandise will be shipped within 2 to 3 working days. We will notify you via email upon shipment of the order.

Order Tracking

Local customers who choose the courier delivery option will receive a call or an SMS alert from the courier. Real-time track status is available.

International customers will receive an e-mail from Arete Goods notifying them of the tracking details upon shipment of the order.

Refunds

For refunds and exchanges, please notify us via e-mail at info@aretegoods.com within 3 days of receipt of products, and kindly send the products back to us within 7 days of receipt.

All products must be returned to us in their original state – unworn, unaltered, free of damage, stains and fragrances, and in the original packaging and labels. Please note the shipping costs of returning the product and of receiving an exchanged product are the responsibility of the customer. Please use a trackable and insured shipping service. Arete Goods will not be responsible for any returned packages lost in transit without confirmation of delivery to Arete Goods.

You will receive an e-mail once your returned package is received. If you are based outside of Singapore, you may need to pay custom taxes and duties on the exchanged product. Should the product that you wish to exchange be out of stock, and if all return conditions are met, we will issue a full refund (excluding shipping costs, custom duties and taxes) for the product.

Your refund will be credited to the original payment method. Please note that refunds can take up to 10 working days to show on your account due to varying processing times between payment providers.

Are the colours accurately represented?

We make every effort to accurately describe and display the colours of our products. However, since actual colours and shades depend on your monitor and lighting conditions, we cannot guarantee that your screen will accurately reproduce the actual colours.

The product that I want is sold out. Are you planning to restock it?

We have only limited quantities of each product. Sold out items may not always be restocked. For information about a specific item that you are interested in, please email us at info@aretegoods.com.
